GET SKLOGGED COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The promoter of the “GET SKLOGGED” competition (the “Competition”) is Dell Australia Pty Limited (ABN 46 003 855 561) of Unit 3, 14 Aquatic Drive, Frenchs Forest, NSW 2086, Australia (the “Promoter”).
- Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions and the Privacy Policy. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter also form part of these terms and conditions.
- The Competition commences at 9:00 am AEST on 31 August 2009 and closes at 5:00pm AEST on 27 October 2009 (the “Competition Period”). All Entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than 5:00 pm AEST on 27 October 2009.
- Entry in the Competition is free and entries must be completed within the Competition Period. The Competition is open to all schools within Australia with the exception of NSW Government schools (each an “Eligible School”).
- Before you can enter your school in the Competition, you must meet the following criteria:
- you must be an employed teacher or staff member of an Eligible School and be aged 18 years or older as at the Competition start date of 31 August 2009;
- you must have proper authorisation from your school to enter your school in the Competition and to accept the prizes from this Competition;
- you must nominate 1 class in your school to participate in the Competition; and
- you must not be a director or employee of the Promoter or an immediate family member of a director or employee of the Promoter.Entering the Competition
- Entry into the Competition is in 2 stages which must be undertaken during the Competition Period as follows:
- first registration of your Eligible School using the online registration form on the GET SKLOGGED website at
www.getsklogged.com.au; and - then completion of the required projects by students of the nominated class at your Eligible School and submission of those projects to the GET SKLOGGED website as described below.

- You can register 1 class from your school (provided you meet the criteria in clause 5) by completing the online registration form on the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au in the full manner required. Incomplete, inaccurate, erroneous, ineligible or incomprehensive online registration forms will be deemed invalid.
- Once you have registered your Eligible School, students in your nominated class must be prepare a collective classroom ‘blog’ in relation to the following 3 topics:
- Project 1: Describe, demonstrate, show what role technology plays in your classroom today.
- Project 2: Describe, demonstrate, show how technology can prepare students for the future.
- Project 3: Describe, demonstrate, create your vision of what a 21st century ‘connected classroom’ would be like.
The blog must be a collective entry of the nominated class and must be uploaded to the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au by the end of the Competition Period.
- You may enter your Eligible School in the Competition as many times as you wish but you must nominate a different class each time. Each nominated class must submit new responses to the Project questions.
- The Promoter takes no responsibility for late or misdirected online registration forms or any delays or failures in any telecommunications services or equipment. Online registration forms will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected online registration forms.
- There will be a total of 3 winning schools chosen as winners based on the most creative and original responses to the 3 project questions as determined solely by the Promoter. Each of the 3 winning schools will win 1 of the major prizes (each a “Major Prize”). Each Major Prize consists of AU$40,015 worth of Dell computers and equipment as described below:

- The same school is not eligible to win more than one Major Prize.
- Each Major Prize includes the transportation and installation of the relevant equipment at each of the 3 winning schools. This will be undertaken by the Promoter (or its agents) at the Promoter’s cost. Except for Dell’s limited warranty obligations, the maintenance of all installed equipment will be the sole responsibility of each winning school.
- By opting in to receive Dell’s email marketing communications (on the application form for the Competition) your school will go into the draw to win a secondary prize consisting of 1 Dell Latitude 2100 laptop valued at AU$1,266 (the “Secondary Prize”). The draw for the Secondary Prize will also include valid entries from Eligible Schools (not taking part in the Competition) which have entered the Secondary Prize draw directly via the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au. The winner of the Secondary Prize will the first valid entry drawn by the Promoter.
- The stated value of each Major Prize and the Secondary Prize are correct at the commencement date of the Competition. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in value of the prizes or the individual components of the prizes. The prizes (whether in whole or in part) are non-transferrable, non-refundable and non-redeemable for cash or other goods or services. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from any school winning any of the prizes and each school entering the Competition should seek independent financial advice before entering the Competition.
- If for any reason any element of a prize becomes unavailable for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, then a similar prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded to the winning school in lieu, subject to any written directions made under State or Territory legislation.
- Judging of the Competition and the draw of the Secondary Prize will take place at the Promoter’s offices at 3:00pm AEST on Friday, 30 October 2009. The Promoter’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- All winning schools will be notified in writing by the Promoter (or its agents) within 2 days of the judging/prize draws using the contact details provided on the Competition entry form. The name of each prize winner will also be published in The Australian newspaper and on the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au on Wednesday 4th November, 2009.
- In the event that a winner of the Major Prize cannot be contacted or fails to accept the Major Prize within 1 month, the Promoter will allocate that Major Prize to another Eligible School whose entry is also considered to be have merit and meet the criteria specified for winning one of the Major Prizes.
- If the Secondary Prize is unclaimed, subject to any written directions given under State or Territory legislation, the Promoter will conduct further a further draw on 30 January 2010 at the Promoter’s premises. The winner of the Promoter’s further Secondary Prize draw will be notified by the Promoter (or its agents) within 2 days of the further prize draw and the winner’s name will also be published in The Australian newspaper and on the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au on Saturday 6th February, 2010. The Promoter (or its agents) will use reasonable efforts to notify each winning school.
- Each winning school must, if requested by the Promoter verify its compliance with these Competition terms and conditions prior to receiving a prize. The required verification shall be in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. Any winning school that does not comply with this clause will forfeit its prize(s).
- By entering the Competition, you and your school agree that:
- in the event that your school is selected as a winner of one of the prizes referred to in these Competition terms and conditions, you and your school will make relevant staff and students available for reasonable publicity purposes related to the Competition and that (without limiting its rights), the Promoter may conduct interviews and take photographs to be used for such publicity purposes and publication by the Promoter as it deems necessary and that you and the school must procure consents from all relevant staff and students to enable the Promoter to undertake these activities;
- in addition to the above, in the event that your school is selected as a winner of one of the Major Prizes:
- your school will make itself available to participate in the development of a case study for the Promoter to demonstrate the use of the installed technology in use in your school; and
- your school will make itself available to participate in the Promoter’s ‘proof-of-concept’ program in relation to the installed technology which will involve the Promoter seeking appropriate permissions to enable the Promoter to bring education leaders (including teachers and IT managers from other schools) to witness and record the installed technology in use and to allow the Promoter to obtain information to benchmark value of the installed technology in use.
- The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered by you or your school (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), or for personal injury suffered or sustained, as a result of your school taking part in, winning or using any of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- All applications and classroom blogs become the property of the Promoter. By taking part in the Competition, you and your school, irrevocably assign all rights, title and interest in your application and classroom blogs to the Promoter and waive any moral rights in relation to the same. You and your school must procure all individual assignments and moral rights waivers as necessary to ensure the assignment of all rights to the Promoter in accordance with this clause.
- The Promoter will use the information contained in your application form in accordance with the Privacy Policy on the on the GET SKLOGGED website at www.getsklogged.com.au.
- If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, prohibition by the relevant authorities or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition as it sees fit. Any entry which is made as a result of tampering with the entry process will be invalid and not eligible for judging and/or any prizes.
- These Competition terms and conditions are to be construed in accordance with the law in New South Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
